An Indian Summer Festival 2020
BROWN WOMEN TALK
hosted by South Asian Sisters Speak (SASS) & TWO-BROWNGIRLS

Two online discussion events with over 150 attendees

In August 2020, An Indian Summer commissioned ForwardCulture to host two roundtable discussions on topics relevant to women from South Asian backgrounds. We collaborated with South Asian Sisters Speak (SASS) and invited a number of prolific guests to join us in two important conversations about what ‘community’ and ‘resilience’ mean to us as brown women.

“The event explored really interesting topics with a great selection of speakers. I liked the laidback atmosphere as these talks can sometimes become quite heavy. I also liked the community of women I was able to interact with via the chat function. It’s something that isn’t always possible with an actual event.”

“I've never seen such accomplished, older south asian women take the initiative to care for younger ones by giving advice and sharing experiences- it was truly refreshing.”
